Alex Binelas may be on the verge of becoming a professional baseball player, but in some ways he already lives like one.
The senior standout from Oak Creek, a third base prospect who plays shortstop for the Knights, is considered by scouts to be a top-five round talent in the Major League Baseball draft June 4-6. Boy with severe cardiac defect is heart of South Amboy (N.J.) baseball team

As the smallest “member” of the South Amboy High School baseball team, 4-year-old Michael Grzankowski made the biggest impact.
“Our goal was to keep playing for Michael,” South Amboy head coach Dan Poulsen explained, noting his players were devastated following last week’s sectional quarterfinal loss to Shore Regional, which meant the Governors’ season came to an end.
“We knew time was running out that he’d be around for games, so we wanted to keep it going as long as possible.”

Odds of sports betting affecting high school sports are slim, but there may be ways to wager

The odds are slim that the Supreme Court’s recent decision to allow states to offer legal sports betting will impact high school sports.
Nevada, for now, is the only state that allows single-game sports betting, but the state’s gaming laws specifically prohibit its sportsbooks from permitting bets on high school sports. That’s the model most other states would likely follow.
