Chad Pennington hired by tiny Kentucky school resurrecting football program from 1970s

One of Kentucky’s smallest high schools is bucking all trends by opting to start a football program rather than eliminate it, and they have a former NFL quarterback lined up to lead them back to the promised land.
As reported by the Lexington Herald Leader, Sayre School of Lexington is re-starting a football program that his been mothballed since the 1970s. The first year will feature a freshman and junior varsity program that ramps up to a varsity schedule with an undefined timeline.

Still, the real highlight from Sayre School’s announcement is who will be leading the new program: Former NFL quarterback Chad Pennington will move from his role as the middle school football coach at The Lexington School to take over the reins at Sayre School.
“I am beyond excited to partner with the Sayre community concerning the football program,” Pennington wrote to the Herald-Leader
