Community rallies behind Alabama teen paralyzed in football practice

An Alabama community is rallying around a teenage football player who was paralyzed in a routine high school football practice.
As reported by AL.com and Alabama NBC affiliate WSFA, coaches and school officials at Park Crossing are asking the community to rally behind freshman football player Christopher Knight, who suffered a neck injury during a practice. Knight has undergone multiple surgeries but remains paralyzed from his chest down, according to a GoFundMe page set up to support the teen.
“This is a sweet, sweet kid, and his mother is such a good person,” Park Crossing coach Smitty Grider told AL
